Ben Alexander powered his way to victory at the 13thAnnual Lions 5K Run for Sight while Megan Williams set a women’s record for the event of 17:48. Williams shattered the prior record also set by her of 19:55 in 2007. Alexander claimed victory over the largest crowd ever for the Run for Sight - over 214 recorded finishers. Lion President, Kyle Medders noted the event raised over $9300 for the club’s sight related mission. Students from the Alabama School for the Blind participated in the 5K and Fun Fun with several winning awards. Students from Camp Lewis provided a refreshing water stop on Buckner Circle, drummers from Anniston High School drummed out a cadence for the runners and the Anniston High School Jazz Band performed after the race.
