| THIS FATHER'S DAY WEEKEND the DPF Youth Empowerment Organization will kickoff the 1st Annual 5K Run/Walk dedicated to the service of Dr. David Satcher. This short 3.1 mile route will be fun and enjoyable for the entire family as you move through the historical West Anniston and Dr. David Satcher's Wellness Park dedicated to the former Surgeon General of the United States and former President of Morehouse School of Medicine. The proceeds from the race will provide scholarships to students from our local High Schools while simultaneously supporting the local DPF Chapter. The DPF is the premier youth empowerment organization mentoring young men from ages 8-18 with two chapters; Atlanta, GA and Anniston, AL. Come and support these young men who have worked hard to provide you with an exciting 5KRun/Walk while promoting the platform of Dr. David Satcherâs Healthy Lifestyle in his birthplace of Anniston, Alabama. NOTE: CDC guidelines in regards to COVID19 safety precautions will be followed. Proper spacing (w/possible waves) prior to race start, social distancing while moving about, masks and hand sanitizing stations will be available and recommended.
