The Anniston Runners Club gives out three major club awards annually, at the club banquet every January, prior to the Half-Naked Half-Marathon.
The Lifetime Membership Award was started in 2006. It was originally designated as the Claudis Hawkins Lifetime Award in 2007, before being changed in 2013 to recognize both Claudis Hawkins and Wilburn Smallwood for their contributions to the Anniston Runners Club. The recipient of this award is chosen by the Anniston Runners Club board yearly, and its winner is granted free lifetime membership to the club in recognition of their service. Recipients display exemplary dedication to the sport of running over many years, show commitment to promoting running in our community, give their time and energy to benefit the club and its members, and overall exemplify the mission of the Anniston Runners Club in a variety of areas.
